ADVANCED INITIATIVES GROUP WORKING TO MAKE ARISTA "GREEN"
Arista is working hard to promote “green” initiatives throughout the industry. Scott Berger, Arista President and Robert Crafton, who will be leading Advanced Initiatives, have been attending conferences around the United States to be able to bring their knowledge back to Arista and to the New York mechanical contractor industry.
In September 2007, the two joined their peers at the inaugural MCAA Green Opportunities Conference held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The conference was well attended and featured speakers from the USGBC, ASHRAE, MCAA and many others who have been heavily involved in the green mechanical movement.
In November 2007, Berger and Crafton attended the USGBC’s annual “Green” building exposition, GreenBuild, held at McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois. The conference portion of the event featured a keynote speech by Bill Clinton and as well as a presentation on PlaNYC 2030. This year GreenBuild has grown to host over 15,000 attendees and featured a vast array of green technologies both new and well established.

ARISTA OFFERS MICROTURBINES TO CUSTOMERS
November 2007: Arista officially became one of the first Capstone Microturbine Dealers in the New York Metro area.
Mayor Bloomberg recently said of the city’s approval of microturbine use in residential and commercial buildings that, “This rule will help us to meet our commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions citywide by 30% between now and 2030, and it will help spur the real estate and development communities to build more efficient, greener projects moving forward.” It has been shown that microturbines are 70% to 80% efficient in their production of electricity whereas coal fired power plants are typically only able to convert between 30% to 35% of the fuel’s embodied energy into electricity. Microturbines also produce far fewer emissions.
We are proud to be able to offer this technology to our customers.
